Choosing Our Heritage
For a Better Tomorrow
At Tendet Foundation, we specialise in conducting in-depth research in Indigenous peoples' villages to uncover and preserve their knowledge systems. Our goal is to ensure these invaluable traditions and practices are safeguarded for future generations.
We strive to address the underrepresentation of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs) in decision-making and policymaking, particularly in climate action and broader societal matters. By amplifying their voices, we aim to promote inclusivity and sustainable solutions that respect their unique perspectives.
It involves engaging with all age groups within these communities—youth, children, and elders alike. By focusing on the youngest members, we aim to instill a sense of pride and responsibility in preserving and passing down their heritage to ensure its continuity for generations to come.

"Heritage is not a relic of the past, it is a compass for the
future. At Tendet, we honour our roots while shaping a sustainable
tomorrow."

"Tendet is where heritage meets action. This initiative helps youth
reclaim and protect the knowledge systems we risk losing. Our future
depends on remembering who we are and using that memory to build
something just, rooted, and resilient."

Tendet Foundation promotes fair and inclusive climate action rooted in Indigenous knowledge. Using tools like the GCA Youth Toolkit , we train youth to lead adaptation efforts in their communities.
We tackle menstrual poverty, promote girls' leadership, and provide capacity-building programs to ensure women and girls have equal opportunities in education, health, and community development.
We work to amplify marginalised voices, especially those of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPsLCs), ensuring they are represented in public policy, climate negotiations, and decision-making platforms.
Indigenous knowledge carries generations of wisdom on resilience and sustainability. Through storytelling, mapping, and intergenerational exchange, we safeguard cultural practices that are vital to our identity and survival.
Absolutely! We offer partnerships through the Tendet Club , where schools can access environmental, cultural, and leadership development programs.
You can join by becoming a member of the Tendet Club . We regularly share opportunities via email and social media.
